More than 50 years ago, at the age of 15, Tom Ritchey welded his first bicycle in his parents' garage. Since then, he's been riding, researching, designing, and building legendary bicycle frames and components that have inspired generations of cyclists, influenced the bicycle industry, and won countless championships.
The Ritchey Swiss Cross owes its name to cyclocross and MTB legend Thomas Frischknecht. The first version from 1994 was an uncompromising racing machine, designed solely to tear through the dirt like no other. Under Frischknecht's leadership, the Swiss Cross achieved numerous victories and became one of the most popular frames in the Ritchey range. It was the successful combination of Tom's experience in frame building and Frischknecht's dominance in racing. While retaining the exquisite ride characteristics known for decades, the Swiss Cross features modern standards such as flat mount brake mounts and thru-axles. Built with Ritchey's proprietary double-butted Logic tubing, the frame remains light and compliant, offering a winning combination of confident responsiveness and razor-sharp handling.
In honor of its 50th anniversary, Ritchey presents this special 50th Anniversary Edition of the Swiss Cross. This limited edition features the iconic Ritchey red paint scheme and is adorned with logos that reference the company's history.
